Las Vegas Has a Unique Layout

So Las Vegas is quite an easy city to figure out if you are thinking about moving here. For one, the unmistakable landmarks on The Strip will always let you know where you are and if you still have no clue, just drive towards the big casinos and you'll never be lost.

Just to explain the freeway structure a little bit and it's easy. There's the 215 freeway which pretty much makes a circle loop around most of the valley. Then you have US-95 which cuts diagonal across the valley. Lastly there's I-15 which cuts a straight line down from the north end of Las Vegas to the south end, giving you the scenic route right past The Strip. Now, there's also Summerlin Parkway which is, guess, heads you into Summerlin.

The older parts of Vegas start from the center, otherwise known as Downtown. That's where Fremont Street is with all of the Downtown casinos. From there, the city started to build out. So today, it's quite typical that all of the properties and buildings that are farther out in the radius of Las Vegas are newer. It's kind of like a rule of thumb.

So what's new? Far SW is Mountains Edge, a suburb master planned community with parks and recreation and new retail plazas. Far West is much the same, new suburbs. Far NW is, again, new suburbs. Far North, is, you guessed it, new suburbs and retail complexes. The only section that has been established for a long time is far East which takes you through older neighborhoods and up to Sunrise Mountain where there is some prestige for the view of those properties.

This was quick glance at the city structure and I'll be bringing you more insight on what life is like in Las Vegas.

It's Just Another City

Life in Vegas is pretty normal. Well, okay, it's normal with some jazz to it. The biggest difference with Las Vegas and another city is that there is life and work going on every where 24 hours a day. From day shift to swing shift to graveyard shift and back to day again, there's always action and there's always plenty of life in the city - and not just on The Strip.

Now the news has made Las Vegas look like the pits sometimes but like every city, making it in Las Vegas is about creating opportunities for yourself and opening the doors. While there may be people leaving Las Vegas, pardon the pun, there are people who are moving to Las Vegas to make their own breaks. Enduring. Recovery. It's the typical story out of most cities yet Las Vegas has been made the ultimate example.

This blog is an insiders point of view on how life in Las Vegas is and frankly, other than having the ultimate luxury of enjoying breakfast at any time of the day, it's just another city.
